IOB has announced 250 Local Bank Officer vacancies across four states. The state-wise distribution is given below:

Candidates should carefully check the IOB LBO eligibility criteria 2026 before applying. Eligibility is determined on the basis of educational qualification, age and other conditions prescribed by the Bank.
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Local language proficiency is an important part of the IOB LBO Recruitment 2026.
Candidates applying for a state must be able to read, write and speak the specified local language of that state.

Candidates who have studied the required local language in Class 10 or Class 12 and can provide the required certificate/marksheet will not have to appear for the Language Proficiency Test.
Candidates who have not studied the required local language in Class 10 or 12 will have to qualify in the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

The IOB LBO selection process 2026 consists of:
Online Examination → Language Proficiency Test (where applicable) → Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify in the online examination will be considered for the subsequent stages as per the conditions prescribed by IOB.
The LPT is applicable to candidates who do not have the required local language qualification through their Class 10 or 12 records.
The online examination will consist of 140 objective questions carrying 200 marks. The total examination duration is 3 hours, with separate sectional timings.

There will be a penalty for incorrect answers.
One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.
There will be no penalty for unanswered questions.
The online examination does not have sectional qualifying marks. However, candidates need to meet the prescribed aggregate qualifying marks.

The Local Bank Officer post is in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).
The basic pay scale is:
₹48,480 – 2,000/7 – ₹62,480 – 2,340/2 – ₹67,160 – 2,680/7 – ₹85,920
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible for applicable Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, CCA and other allowances/perquisites as per the Bank's rules.
Selected candidates will be on probation for two years of active service from the date of joining.
Candidates are also required to execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2 lakh for rendering a minimum of three years of service, subject to the conditions specified by IOB.
