The TS Inter 1st Year Botany Model Paper follows a three-section format. Understanding the pattern can help you plan your time and practise each question type properly.

Section A: Very Short Answer Questions

Section A carries 20 marks. It contains 10 questions, and each question carries 2 marks. You have to answer all the questions.

The questions test short and direct concepts. The model paper includes questions such as:

  • What is flora?

  • Who are herbalists and what books were written by them?

  • What is venation?

  • How do dicots differ from monocots with respect to venation?

  • Which plant has a single fruit developing from the entire inflorescence?

  • Which type of plant has a shorter juvenile phase, annual or perennial?

  • Give the technical description of the anthers of Allium cepa.

  • Match chemical bonds with polysaccharides, proteins, fats and water.

  • What is the significance of the vacuole in a plant cell?

  • How many pollen mother cells are required to produce 1200 pollen grains?

  • Write the botanical name and family of the neem plant.

Section B: Short Answer Questions

Section B carries 24 marks. It contains 8 questions, numbered 11 to 18. You have to answer any six questions. Each question carries 4 marks.
