Kushagra Roy’s CA Intermediate May 2024 result became a proud moment for him and the entire PW team. He secured All India Rank 1 with 538 marks out of 600, scoring 92 in Advanced Accounts, 80 in Law, 92 in Taxation, 97 in Costing, 85 in Audit, and 92 in FM-SM.
For Kushagra, the result was more than just a rank. He had already experienced the pressure of the examination in an earlier attempt, and the first paper of this attempt did not go exactly as he expected. Still, he continued with the remaining papers and eventually emerged as the CA Inter AIR 1.
His preparation was built around regular study, recorded lectures, notes, and daily homework. His journey shows how consistency can matter even when an exam does not go as planned.
Kushagra Roy was preparing for the CA Intermediate May 2024 examination and had his eyes on a strong result. Although he did not expect AIR 1 after writing the papers, he had always kept the idea of securing a rank in mind.
When asked whether he had expected a rank after the examination, Kushagra explained:
“Back of the mind shuru se tha ki rank lana hai. Yes sir, but pehle paper ke baad nahi sir.”
The examination did not give him the confidence that a top rank was guaranteed. In particular, some papers felt difficult to him. However, instead of allowing one difficult paper to affect the rest of his preparation, he continued to complete the examination.
That decision became important as the results eventually showed that even a difficult paper does not necessarily decide the final outcome.
Kushagra’s preparation focused on completing his classes, making notes, and revising what he studied. Rather than attending every class live, he preferred recorded lectures because they allowed him to manage his study time according to his own pace.
He shared:
“Recorded dekhta tha sir, main live nahi dekhta. Recording best hai. Recorded 2X pe dekhta tha aur 2X pe dekh karke phir notes banata tha aur phir revision karta tha.”
Kushagra used recorded classes at 2X speed, followed by note-making and revision. This gave him flexibility in managing his study schedule and allowed him to revisit important concepts when needed.
His approach was not simply about watching lectures quickly. He combined the lectures with notes and revision, making sure that the information stayed useful during exam preparation.
Along with lectures, regular practice was an important part of Kushagra’s preparation. He made sure that the work assigned by his teachers was completed consistently.
When asked about his Accounts preparation, he said:
“Sir jo sir padhate the woh toh padhta tha aur homework karta tha sir, daily.”
For Kushagra, attending classes was only one part of the preparation. Completing homework daily helped him practise the concepts covered in class and stay connected with the syllabus.
This regularity also helped him avoid leaving large portions of the syllabus for the end.
One of the biggest challenges in his journey came when he felt that the first paper had not gone as expected. A difficult paper can easily affect a student’s confidence, especially when the goal is to secure a high rank.
Kushagra recalled:
“Pehla paper is baar thoda tedha gaya tha, matlab main aapko sachhi bata raha. Par agar paper tedha bhi tha, uske baad bhi bande ne himmat nahi haari, usne saare paper diye.”
Instead of letting the first paper decide his mindset, Kushagra continued with the remaining papers. He understood that the final result would depend on his overall performance, not just one examination.
This ability to stay composed after an uncertain start helped him complete the entire examination with the same seriousness.
The final result showed just how strong Kushagra’s overall performance had been. He scored 538 marks out of 600, securing AIR 1 in CA Intermediate May 2024.
His subject-wise marks were:
Advanced Accounts: 92
Law: 80
Taxation: 92
Costing: 97
Audit: 85
FM-SM: 92
His highest score came in Costing, where he scored 97 marks. He also scored 92 marks each in Advanced Accounts, Taxation, and FM-SM.
The consistency across subjects was one of the strongest aspects of his result. Even though some papers felt challenging to him, he maintained a high overall score.
The AIR 1 result was an emotional moment for Kushagra and his family. When asked about his parents’ reaction, he shared:
“Sir bahut khush the. Sir bahut khush the. Woh khushi wale aansu nikle, thode se nikle the sir.”
For Kushagra, seeing his family happy made the achievement even more meaningful. The result was not only a reflection of his own effort but also a memorable moment for the people who had supported him during his preparation.
His story also highlights that academic achievements can carry an emotional value that goes beyond marks and ranks.
Kushagra’s preparation was built around a simple but disciplined routine: attend the required classes through recordings, study at his own pace, make notes, complete homework, and revise regularly.
His AIR 1 result did not come from one particular strategy or a last-minute push. It was the outcome of maintaining consistency throughout the preparation and staying focused even when an exam did not feel perfect.
His journey is a reminder for CA aspirants that one difficult paper does not define the final result. Completing the examination with the same focus, continuing to practise, and staying regular with studies can make a significant difference.
Kushagra Roy’s 538/600 and AIR 1 in CA Intermediate May 2024 is a strong example of what disciplined preparation can achieve. His experience with recorded lectures, 2X learning, daily homework, and regular revision offers practical lessons for aspirants preparing for CA Intermediate. Most importantly, his ability to keep going after a difficult paper shows that staying consistent until the very last paper can change the outcome.
