Preparing for CA Intermediate requires consistent effort, subject-wise preparation, revision, and regular practice. For students aiming for a rank, managing these aspects alongside a demanding study schedule can be challenging.
Rohit Kumar from Ludhiana secured AIR 28 in the CA Intermediate September 2026 examination. His journey highlights how he approached preparation, maintained a routine through live classes, and used self-study and revision to work towards his goal.
Rohit's preparation involved attending live classes and putting in additional hours of independent study. He followed a demanding schedule to cover his academic work and stay on track.
Describing the time he devoted to preparation, Rohit shared:
โJitna kaam hota tha, us hisaab se poora din hi nikal jaata tha. Raat ko bhi din-raat ek karke kaam karna padta tha.โ
His response highlights how much time he dedicated to completing his work. Along with his classes, he continued studying independently to strengthen his preparation.
When asked about his self-study hours after live classes, he explained:
"6-7."
Rohit spent approximately six to seven hours on self-study after attending classes. This additional study time allowed him to continue working on his subjects beyond the classroom sessions.
Rohit attended CA Inter live classes instead of relying only on recorded lectures. He explained that following a live schedule helped him maintain a routine and avoid creating backlogs.
Sharing why he preferred live classes, Rohit said:
"Routine bane rehne se discipline maintain rehta hai."
A fixed class schedule helped him maintain discipline during preparation. Attending classes regularly also supported his efforts to keep up with the planned coursework.
Rohit also spoke positively about his learning experience with PW and the role of teachers in explaining concepts.
"Experience kaafi badhiya raha. Teachers ki concept clarity kaafi zyada kaam aai. Revision mein bhi koi khaas dikkat nahi aayi. YouTube shayad halke fulke problem aayi to bhi khatam ho gayi."
He described the teachers' contribution to concept clarity and said that revision did not present any major difficulty. He also mentioned that the minor problems he encountered while using YouTube were resolved.
Along with live classes and self-study, Rohit focused on revision and mock tests. His preparation included revisiting both theoretical and practical subjects and practising questions to assess his readiness.
When discussing his revision schedule, Rohit explained:
"Major theory subject teen aaspaas, practical subject do do."
He indicated that he revised major theory subjects around three times and practical subjects around twice. This subject-wise approach helped him organise his revision according to the type of subject.
Rohit also discussed the mock tests he attempted during preparation.
"Mock test do."
He mentioned attempting two mock tests for each subject during the discussion. His experience highlights the role of regular testing alongside concept learning and revision.
Rohit's experience also helped him identify areas he would approach differently if preparing again. He emphasised the importance of taking care of health and giving more time to writing practice.
Sharing his advice, Rohit said:
"Thode sleep health pe thoda zyada dhyan dena hai."
His advice highlights that preparation should not come at the cost of sleep and health. Maintaining a sustainable routine is important when students are studying for long hours.
He also stressed the need to practise writing answers.
"Apni subject writing practice kaafi zyada karni hai."
This advice is particularly relevant for students who spend most of their preparation time watching lectures or revising concepts. Along with understanding a topic, aspirants should make time to practise writing answers independently.
Rohit Kumar's CA Intermediate AIR 28 success story shows the preparation habits he followed to work towards his target. He attended live classes, devoted six to seven hours to self-study, revised his subjects, and attempted mock tests.
His experience also highlights the importance of understanding concepts, maintaining discipline, and practising answer writing. His advice about sleep and health is a reminder that preparation involves more than simply increasing study hours.
For students preparing for upcoming CA Intermediate examinations, Rohit's journey offers practical lessons: follow a consistent schedule, revise regularly, practise questions, and learn from your preparation experience. His story demonstrates how a structured routine and sustained effort formed part of his journey to securing AIR 28.
