The CA Inter May 2026 results brought another remarkable achievement for Vrinda Agarwal, who secured All India Rank 7 (AIR 7) in the Chartered Accountancy Intermediate examination. Vrinda is from Ghaziabad and had previously secured All India Rank 1 in CA Foundation, making her latest achievement another milestone in her CA journey.
During her topper interview, Vrinda shared details about her preparation strategy, revision schedule, mock-test practice, approach to practical and theory subjects, lecture preferences, homework routine and advice for future CA aspirants.
Vrinda prepared Advanced Accounting, Costing and FM-SM with PW. She scored 85 in Accounts, 74 in Law, 74 in Tax, 97 in Costing and 88 in Audit.
When asked whether she expected a rank after appearing for the CA Intermediate examination, Vrinda said:
“I did have an expectation, but getting a single-digit rank would have been a very good thing.”
Her AIR 7 result reflects the consistency and discipline she maintained throughout her preparation.
Vrinda followed a detailed preparation strategy based on early syllabus completion, multiple revisions, mock tests and consistent practice.
She explained:
“My strategy was that first of all, I had to complete the syllabus as quickly as possible so that I could get enough time for revision. And during revision also, I tried to revise as much as possible so that I could maintain a strong grip on the subjects and not reach a point where I was forgetting things or could not remember them.”
For practical subjects, she placed special emphasis on writing practice, mock tests, chapter-wise tests and repeated question-solving.
She added:
“Especially for practical subjects, the focus should be on writing practice, attempting more and more mocks, taking chapter-wise tests and solving all the questions given in the book repeatedly. That was the strategy.”
This approach allowed her to combine conceptual learning with extensive practice.
One of the most notable aspects of Vrinda's CA Inter preparation strategy was the number of revisions and mock tests she completed.
When asked about her revision schedule, she revealed:
“Excluding the revision on the exam day, I completed four revisions.”
Along with four complete revision rounds, Vrinda attempted a large number of mock tests.
“I wrote around 25 to 30 mocks in total.”
She clarified that these were full-syllabus mock tests.
“Full syllabus.”
Attempting 25–30 full-syllabus mocks gave Vrinda extensive exposure to examination-style questions and helped her practise completing papers within the required time.
Her preparation demonstrates that mock tests can play an important role in identifying gaps, improving answer-writing speed and building confidence before the CA Intermediate examination.
Vrinda had prepared Advanced Accounting, Costing and FM-SM with PW. Her approach to practical subjects centred on repeated practice and application.
Her preparation included:
Completing the syllabus early
Revising multiple times
Attempting full-syllabus mock tests
Taking chapter-wise tests
Practising answer writing
Repeatedly solving questions from the books
Completing lecture-wise homework
For CA Inter students, her strategy highlights the importance of moving beyond lectures and actively solving questions. Regular writing practice can help students become more comfortable with lengthy calculations and examination-style problems.
Vrinda followed a somewhat different approach for theory-oriented subjects such as Law and Audit.
She first completed her lectures and then studied from the books.
“For theory, I first studied from the book after completing the lectures. I read the book once.”
She also referred to the modules for theory preparation.
“I also referred to the modules for theory.”
Vrinda studied the modules twice before returning to her books and continued with writing practice.
“I read the modules twice, and after that I studied from the book itself. And yes, I also did writing practice.”
Her approach combined lectures, books, modules, revision and answer-writing practice, giving her multiple opportunities to revisit important concepts.
Vrinda's achievement is also part of a strong academic tradition in her family.
Her elder sister, Tulsi Agarwal, is currently in CA Final. She had previously secured District Rank 1 in CA Intermediate.
Vrinda said:
“My elder sister is Tulsi Agarwal. She is currently in CA Final. Last year, she secured District Rank 1 in Intermediate.”
Vrinda also revealed that she had been academically consistent from childhood.
When asked whether she became more focused only after Class 10 or Class 12, she replied:
“Since childhood.”
This consistency has continued through different stages of her CA journey.
PW played an important role in Vrinda Agarwal's CA Inter May 2026 preparation, particularly for her practical subjects. She studied Advanced Accounting, Costing and FM-SM with PW, using the lectures, homework and practice resources as part of her detailed preparation.
Vrinda followed the lectures through the recorded format, generally watching them at 1.25X to 1.5X speed, depending on her understanding. She also completed the assigned homework consistently before moving on to the next lecture.
“I did all of it. I used to complete the homework lecture-wise.”
For practical subjects, PW's lectures were combined with extensive writing practice, chapter-wise tests and repeated question-solving. Vrinda's preparation strategy was to complete the syllabus early and then use the available time for multiple revisions and mock tests.
She also emphasised the importance of sincerely attending teachers' classes:
“You should always attend the teachers' classes sincerely.”
Her approach shows that PW's role was not limited to completing lectures. The learning was followed by regular practice, homework, revision and mock-test preparation, helping Vrinda build a strong grip over the subjects and contribute to her CA Inter AIR 7 achievement.
