Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was the German physicist who invented thermometer in 1709 that was based on an alcohol but Fahrenheit invented the mercury thermometer in 1714.

In 1724, Fahrenheit Scale was introduced thatis known as standard temperature scale. In  Fahrenheit scale, it divides the boiling pointsand the freezing of water into 180 degrees.

We know that the freezing point of water is 32°F and the boiling point is 212°F. 0°F is based on the temperature of an equal mixture of water, ice, and salt. At first stage Fahrenheit set human body temperature at 100° F, but later it has adjusted to 98.6°F.
