Introduction
Respiration of Class 7
Respiration, term is coined by Dutrochet. Respiration is defined as the intake of fresh air (more contents of oxygen) and giving out the residual air (more contents of carbon dioxide) along with the production of energy. The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place in the respiratory organ and this part of respiration is called external respiration or breathing. The oxygen combines with glucose in the cell to release energy which is useful for various metabolic activities. This is called internal respiration or cellular respiration.
