The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released important guidelines for candidates aspiring for CUET UG 2026. To ensure a smooth application process and avoid last-minute issues, understanding the mandatory document requirements is crucial. This blog outlines the essential documents, their specific criteria, and key highlights from the NTA's advisory to help candidates prepare effectively for the upcoming application window.

CUET Commerce 2026 New Guidelines: NTA Notice

The NTA has provided the following key information regarding the CUET UG 2026 exam:

• Official Websites: All application forms, instructions, and future updates related to CUET will be published on the official websites: nta.ac.in and exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.

• Emphasized Document Corrections: The official notice reiterates the importance of having an updated Aadhaar Card. The candidate's name, date of birth, photograph, address, and parents' names on the Aadhaar must match the details on their Class 10th and 12th academic records.

• Application Procedure: The application will be a two-step process:

• Tentative Timeline:

• The registration and form-filling process is expected to conclude by March.

Required Documents for CUET UG 2026 Application

Candidates must ensure the following documents are ready and meet specified requirements before the application window opens (expected around February-March) under the CUET Commerce 2026 New Guidelines :

 Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card):

• An updated Aadhaar Card is essential.

• Candidates must update their Aadhaar details, including their latest photograph and current residential address.

Class 12th Academic Document:

• Current Students (Appearing for Class 12): A valid Class 12 Admit Card will be required.

• Droppers (Repeat Candidates): A Class 12 Marksheet is required.

Class 10th Marksheet:

• This document serves as the primary proof of Date of Birth.

Consistency Across Documents:

• It is mandatory that the spelling of the candidate's name, as well as their parents' names, is absolutely identical across the Class 10th marksheet, Class 12th document (admit card/marksheet), and the Aadhaar card.

• Candidates are urged to check for any discrepancies and apply for corrections immediately.

Scanned Images:

• Passport-Sized Photograph: A recent photograph is required. The scanned file size must be between 10 KB and 200 KB.

• Signature: The candidate's signature, signed on a plain white sheet of paper. The scanned file size must be between 4 KB and 30 KB.

Category / Caste Certificate:

• This is required for candidates applying under reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

• The certificate must be updated and valid.

• Crucial Distinction: The NTA will only accept certificates issued by the Central Government. State Government-issued certificates will not be valid for the CUET application.

• PwD candidates may also require a UDID (Unique Disability ID) card.
