Shyam prepared for the CS examination in three days immediately after his CMA Inter exams. He managed a continuous 18-day exam schedule across both courses with minimal rest, often sleeping no more than three hours per night.
Preparation Time: Only 3 days of dedicated study for the CS exams (as he was appearing for CMA Inter exams right before).
Sleep Schedule: He slept only 3 hours a day for 18 consecutive days during the exam period.
Materials: He relied almost entirely on YouTube marathon/revision lectures and did not use his textbooks during the final exam days.
Shyam identified ECIPL (Economic, Commercial and Intellectual Property Laws) as the most challenging paper. The CS Executive exam has featured questions based on specific limits, which are difficult to recall with only one day for revision.
Shyam's experience highlights the importance of resilience. He planned to appear for a single group in the June attempt, but missed the paper. He was unaware that the exam time for the June session was 9 AM, being accustomed to the usual 2 PM schedule. This setback led him to attempt both groups in the next session, resulting in his All India Rank. This experience serves as an example of how an unfortunate event can lead to a more favourable outcome. CS aspirants preparing for competitive exams in the future should plan thier exam strategy accordingly.
CS Executive AIR 18 Shyam has shared his experiences that may help the CS aspirants in their exam attempts. They should rely only on the one resource planning. Take any reliable study material and be consistent in the preparation and planning. Solve the questions for the exam to get an idea in planning actual exam-related attempts.
