This role is crucial in India's booming corporate sector, which includes numerous listed, private, and public companies vital to the economy.
In India, corporate culture is experiencing a significant boom, with a multitude of companies contributing substantially to the economy. Companies are considered the backbone of the economy, with the government actively promoting their formation and business activities. The primary role of a Company Secretary (CS) is to manage these companies from start to finish. A CS is the key individual who guides directors and makes decisions aligned with current market conditions, ensuring corporate governance and compliance.
The Company Secretary (CS) profession is officially governed by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), which sets the standards and conducts the examinations for this qualification.
The Company Secretary (CS) course is structured into three distinct stages designed to equip candidates with comprehensive knowledge and skills:
CS Executive Entrance Test (CS EE-T)
CS Executive
CS Professional
Upon successful completion of all three stages, candidates are required to undertake an internship. After completing this internship, the candidate receives their degree and officially qualifies as a Company Secretary (CS).
The CS Executive Entrance Test (CS EE-T) is the initial stage of the CS journey.
