
ICSI New President and Vice-President: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has announced its new leadership for the year 2025. With effect from 19th January 2025, CS Dhananjay Shukla has been elected as the President and CS Pawan G Chandak as the Vice-President of ICSI.
CS Dhananjay Shukla, a Commerce and Law graduate, is a Fellow Member of ICSI. A Practising Company Secretary based in Gurugram, he brings with him substantial experience in Corporate Law, Securities Law, and Taxation. His dedication and involvement in the profession are reflected through his long-standing association with ICSI in various roles.
Having served as the Vice-President of ICSI in 2024, CS Shukla's journey within the Institute has been marked by key contributions. He was elected to the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of ICSI for the term 2011-2014 and re-elected for the term 2015-2018. During this period, he held important positions, including that of Chairman of the Northern Region in 2017. In addition, he has served on the Secretarial Standards Board (SSB) of ICSI in 2019 and 2020.
CS Shukla has over two decades of experience in the corporate world. Before starting his independent practice in 2009, he worked as a Company Secretary in various large corporate groups. He has also played a key role in supporting Start-Up ventures in India initiated by foreign promoters. His presidency is expected to further contribute to strengthening the institution and expanding its initiatives.

CS Pawan G Chandak, elected as the Vice-President of ICSI for 2025, is a qualified Company Secretary with specialization in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare. He is the founder partner of M/s KPRC & Associates and has extensive experience across multiple domains including Corporate Laws, Industrial Laws, Foreign Exchange Laws, Legal Metrology, SEZ, STPI, EOUs, and Arbitration Matters.
Over the years, he has worked in advisory roles and as an Independent Director for several leading corporate houses and multinational companies. His experience spans across various legal and operational domains including deal structuring, merger and amalgamation cases, and secretarial audits.
His association with ICSI includes serving as a member of the Central Council for the 2023–2026 term. Prior to this, he was elected to the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of ICSI for 2019–2022 and held leadership positions including Secretary (2019), Vice-Chairman (2020), and Chairman (2021). He also served as the Chairman of the Pune Chapter in 2012 and 2017.
With a strong professional background and over 20 years of experience, CS Chandak has been consistently involved in enhancing the professional standards and governance practices within the corporate sector. His leadership is expected to further enrich the professional environment for Company Secretaries.
The newly elected leadership of ICSI, comprising CS Dhananjay Shukla and CS Pawan G Chandak, reflects the Institute's ongoing commitment to strengthening the profession and providing direction to its members and students. With their collective experience and leadership qualities, they are well-positioned to guide the Institute through a new phase of professional development.
