According to the official notification, BARC JRF Salary Structure prescribes both initial and final stipend amounts with book allowance. As a JRF, a candidate gets ₹ 37000/- per month. The tenure of a JRF is 2 years. If BARC observes satisfactory performance of the candidate, then the tenure is extended for the next 3 years. The candidate can work as a Senior Research Fellow(SRF) for 3 years. Thus, the total tenure becomes 5 years.

BARC JRF Posts and Salary

BARC JRF Recruitment 2025 allows a candidate to serve as a JRF initially. If the candidate fulfills all the desirable criteria and educational qualifications prescribed by BARC, then he become able to work as a JRF for 2 years.

• BARC JRF: BARC JRF Salary is provided to the Junior Research Fellows for a duration of 2 years. If a candidate gets selected by the BARC as a Junior Research Fellow(JRF), he/she will be eligible for getting ₹ 37000/- every month for two years. 

• BARC SRF: If the candidate shows enthusiasm and high performance in the scientific research programs organized by the BARC, then he/she can be promoted as a Senior Research Fellow(SRF).  An SRF can work for 3 years. An SRF is eligible to get a BARC JRF  Stipend of ₹ 42000(consolidated) for the next three years. 

Important- Candidates selected in the BARC JRF Recruitment 2025 will be sanctioned ₹ 60,000/- per year till they are working as a fellow in the scientific research programs in BARC.

BARC JRF Salary Structure 2025 with Perks and Allowances

BARC JRF Recruitment 2025  allows the selected candidate to work and complete their PhD in a residential program. Therefore, the selected candidates or the JRFs are provided with hostel accommodation. The payment for the provided hostel and mess facility is important. The general stipend of a JRF is ₹ 37000/ month. 

BARC has various operational centers in India in various cities, namely Hyderabad, Mumbai, Indore, and Kalpakkam. BARC JRF  Salary Structure can change if no hostel accommodation is available in a particular city for completing this residential program. In such cases, the provision for House Rent Allowance (HRA) is there as per the Government guidelines.  

BARC JRF Job Profile

BARC JRF Recruitment 2025 requires a candidate to work on nuclear research and scientific developments during their tenure as a JRF. There are broadly three disciplines in which a candidate can pursue their research fellowship. These are: Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Life Sciences. 

A BARC JRF focuses on the following tasks:

• Research Activities: Participation in scientific research activities under the mentorship of BARC scientists.

• Data Analysis Tasks: Interpretation and analysis of experimental data using different tools and techniques.

• Report Writing and Publication: Candidates learn report writing for experimental data in a precise manner, along with the completion of their PhD program.

A Junior Research Fellow completes his/her PhD in a period of 2 years. If the candidate qualifies for all the criteria set by BARC, considering their performance, then he/she become a Senior Research Fellow there.
