BARC OCES/DGFS 2026 is a national-level recruitment and training program conducted by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for engineering graduates and science postgraduates. Selected candidates are trained under OCES or DGFS and later appointed as Scientific Officer ‘C’ (Group A Gazetted) in various DAE units.

BARC OCES 2026 Vacancy Details

BARC does not declare a fixed number of vacancies in advance. Candidates who successfully complete OCES training are appointed as Scientific Officer “C” in DAE units such as:

• BARC, Mumbai

• IGCAR, Kalpakkam

• NPCIL

• Other constituent units of DAE

Final allocation depends on organizational requirements and candidate performance during training.

BARC OCES 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill nationality, age, and educational requirements to apply.

Nationality

• Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit (as on 1 August 2026)

Educational Qualification

Engineering Disciplines

• B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) or 5-year Integrated M.Tech

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA

Science Disciplines

• M.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biosciences, Geology, or Geophysics

• Minimum 60% marks in both Bachelor’s and Master’s level

3. Verify account using OTP and email activation link.

4. Log in and fill academic and personal details.

5. Select screening mode: Online Exam / GATE / Both.

6. Upload photograph, signature, and GATE scorecard (if applicable).

7. Pay the application fee through SBI payment gateway.

The selection process consists of three stages:

1. Screening Stage

Candidates are shortlisted through:

• Online Computer-Based Test (CBT), or

• Valid GATE score (2024 / 2025 / 2026)

2. Interview Stage

Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview conducted in:

• Mumbai or

• Hyderabad

Final merit is based only on interview performance.

3. Medical Examination

Selected candidates must qualify the prescribed medical fitness standards before appointment.

BARC OCES 2026 Salary & Job Profile

Selected candidates are appointed as Scientific Officer “C” (Group A Gazetted).

• Pay Level: Level 10 (7th CPC)

• Basic Pay: ₹56,100

• Approx. Monthly Salary: ₹1,34,000 (including DA, HRA & Transport Allowance at Mumbai rates)
