CSIR NET Answer Key 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check the provisional answer key along with their question papers and recorded responses on the official CSIR NET website.

The CSIR NET June 2026 answer key challenge window is open from August 16 to August 18, 2026, up to 11:00 PM. Candidates who are not satisfied with any answer in the provisional key can submit challenges online by paying a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question.

NTA conducted the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination on July 17 and 18, 2026, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across 224 cities and 352 examination centres. A total of 1,87,739 candidates were registered for the examination.

The provisional answer key is available specifically for the answer key challenge process. Candidates who find an answer incorrect can raise an objection during the prescribed window.

The answer key challenge facility is available from August 16 to August 18, 2026, with the last date for payment also set as August 18, 2026, up to 11:00 PM.

Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key between August 16 and August 18, 2026.

The challenge facility will remain available until 11:00 PM on August 18, 2026. The processing fee must also be paid by the same deadline.

NTA has clarified that no challenge will be accepted without payment of the prescribed processing fee. Challenges submitted through any mode other than the official online facility will also not be accepted.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2026 Challenge Fee

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 for every question challenged.

The fee can be paid through:

  • Credit Card

  • Debit Card

  • Net Banking

  • UPI

Candidates should note that the challenge facility is available only once. NTA has advised candidates to carefully review their selections before making the payment because no modification or further opportunity to challenge will be provided after successful payment.

Candidates can follow these steps to access the provisional answer key and recorded responses:

  1. Visit the official CSIR NET website at csirnet.nta.nic.in.

  2. Click on “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key.”

  3. Log in using the Application Number and Password.

  4. Enter the captcha displayed on the screen.

  5. Click on “View Question Paper” to see the marked or recorded responses.

  6. Click on “Click to view / Challenge Answer Key” to access the provisional answer key.

  7. Review the questions, recorded responses and answer options.

  8. Download or save the details for future reference.

Candidates who believe that an answer in the provisional answer key is incorrect can submit a challenge through the official portal.

Steps to Raise CSIR NET Answer Key Objection

  1. Go to csirnet.nta.nic.in.

  2. Click on “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key.”

  3. Enter your Application Number and Password.

  4. Enter the captcha and log in.

  5. Click on “View Question Paper” to check your recorded responses.

  6. Select “Click to view / Challenge Answer Key.”

  7. Locate the relevant question using its Question ID.

  8. Select the appropriate option or options that you want to challenge.

  9. Upload supporting documents, if required.

  10. Ensure that all supporting documents are combined into one PDF file of maximum 500 KB.

  11. Click on “Submit and Review Claims.”

  12. Review the list of questions and options challenged.

  13. Use “Modify Claim” if any changes are required before final submission.

  14. Click on “Save Claim and Pay Fee.”

  15. Click on “Pay Now” and pay the applicable fee.

  16. Save the confirmation after successful payment.

Candidates should carefully review every claim before making the payment because no modification is permitted after successful payment.

CSIR NET Answer Key Challenge: Supporting Documents

Candidates can upload supporting documents while submitting an answer key challenge.

As per the NTA instructions, all supporting documents must be combined into a single PDF file, with the maximum file size limited to 500 KB.

What Happens After CSIR NET Answer Key Challenge 2026?

After the challenge window closes, the objections submitted by candidates will be examined by a panel of subject experts.

If a challenge is found to be correct, NTA will revise the answer key. The correction will be applied to the responses of all candidates concerned.

The result will then be prepared and declared on the basis of the revised final answer key.

NTA has also clarified that candidates will not be individually informed about whether their particular challenge has been accepted or rejected.

The answer key finalised by the experts after the challenge process will be treated as final.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2026: How to Check Recorded Responses?

Candidates can check their recorded responses along with the question paper by logging into the answer key challenge portal.

After logging in, candidates need to click on “View Question Paper.” This will allow them to see their marked or recorded responses. They can then use the “View / Challenge Answer Key” option to compare their responses with the provisional answer key.
