Indian citizens who have completed a Master's Degree program with a minimum overall grade point average (OGPA) as specified in the Table above would be eligible.
In other situations, when grade points are not provided and just marks are given, the applicant must achieve a minimum percentage score as specified in the Table above.
Furthermore, if any degree from a specific college/university is refused for admission by an Agricultural University due to the college/university being de-recognized by VCI/UGC, or due to any Court directives (present or future), ICAR will not be held liable for admitting students from that college/university to universities that are not willing to admit such applicants.
Applicants with a Bachelor's degree of three years' duration will not be considered for admission through ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) 2025 in AUs under the ICAR-AU system, except for a few courses at IARI and NDRI for which the eligibility criteria of the relevant ICAR-DU, including admission of graduates with a three-year degree, will apply.
According to UGC Public Notice No.F9-3/2016(CPP-II) dated July 19, 2016, only the accepting institution would decide on degree equivalence.
Indian citizens having a Master's degree (with thesis) in a related field who achieve particular OGPA or percentage mark requirements are eligible. The needed OGPA is 6.5/10 (60%) for General/OBC/EWS and 5.5/10 (50%) for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender.
The applicant must complete their Master's degree before July 31, 2025. Age must be at least 20 as of August 31, 2025. Except for some IARI/NDRI courses, holders of a three-year UG degree are ineligible.

To be accepted for the AICE SRF/JRF (PGS), candidates must be Indian nationals and have completed their Master's Degree program with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) from any recognised Indian university.
Applicants with a three-year Bachelor's degree who are already enrolled in a Master's degree may apply for admission to PhD programs at the respective ICAR-DU based on the qualifying requirements.
Applicants who have graduated from private colleges that ICAR does not accredit are ineligible for the examinations; students who have graduated from private universities that are accredited by ICAR are able to take the ICAR JRF/ SRF 2025 exam.
The applicant must have finished their postgraduate degree in all respects and have met all degree completion criteria at the time of Counseling/admission to the institution; otherwise, they will not be considered for admission or the granting of the fellowship.
Applicants must be at least 20 years old as of July 1 of the year of admission. There is no relaxation of the minimum age requirement for any category. There is also no upper age restriction, since it varies depending on the fellowship and the candidate's category.
