JNU PhD Admission 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria 2025

Prospective candidates must fulfil various educational qualifications, which vary based on the admission route they choose:

• General Eligibility: Candidates need to meet the program-specific academic requirements outlined by the individual Schools/Centres/Special Centres they are applying to.

• Through UGC/CSIR NET: Applicants must possess a valid NET percentile from the UGC/CSIR NET December 2024 examination onwards. Additionally, they must satisfy program-specific educational qualifications and have relevant NET/JRF subject areas.

• Through JRF: Candidates must have qualified for UGC/CSIR Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in a relevant NET subject, or possess a JRF from ICMR, DBT, or NBHM in the specified subject areas. The JRF certificate must remain valid until the time of physical document verification.

• Through GATE Score: For PhD admission in specific engineering disciplines like Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering under the School of Engineering, candidates need a valid GATE score. This score must be active on the last date of submitting the online PhD application form.

JNU PhD admission 2025-26 is a fully online application process to make it convenient and efficient. By taking these steps into consideration, the application will be submitted without problems.

• Go to the official site - jnuee.jee.ac.in.

• Create a new account, during which you should give the required information.

• Fill in the online application form, including the personal details, education history, and the preferred program types (you may choose up to 3 fields of study).

• Choose a type of admission (NET/ JRF/ GATE) accordingly.

• The student must upload all the necessary documents, including their photograph, signature, academic certificates, and evidence of net/JRF/GATE qualification.

• Make an application fee online, according to your category.

• Before final submission, thoroughly check all the details entered because once done it cannot be corrected.

• Print the confirmation page and save it.
