CUET BHU Eligibility Criteria 2026

CUET BHU Eligibility Criteria 2026: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is one of the most preferred central universities in India for undergraduate education. Admission to most UG and integrated programmes at BHU is conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) organised by the National Testing Agency.

For students planning to apply, understanding the CUET BHU Eligibility Criteria 2026 is the first and most important step before filling out the application form. Eligibility conditions decide whether a candidate can participate in counselling and admission rounds.

These conditions are not limited to academic qualifications alone. Factors such as age limit, minimum qualifying marks, and subject combinations in CUET 2026 play a crucial role. Even if a student performs well in the entrance exam, failure to meet any eligibility requirement can result in disqualification at a later stage.

BHU Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2026 Admission

Before going into course-specific details, it is essential to understand the general admission framework followed by BHU. Admissions to undergraduate programmes are strictly based on CUET scores, followed by counselling conducted by the university.

As per the CUET BHU Eligibility Criteria 2026, candidates must satisfy four broad parameters:

  • Age limit prescribed for the specific programme

  • Educational qualification from a recognised board or institution

  • Minimum qualifying marks in the Class 12 or equivalent examination

  • Required subject combination in CUET examination

The basic requirements applicable to most UG courses include passing Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board and securing a minimum aggregate of 50 percent. However, these conditions vary across programmes, especially for professional, vocational, and integrated courses.

It is important to note that eligibility is verified during counselling and admission. Meeting the CUET cut off scores alone does not guarantee admission unless all academic and age-related conditions are fulfilled.
