DU CSAS Phase 3: Freeze or Upgrade After Seat Allotment?

DU UG Admission Counselling Phase 3: Delhi University (DU) UG Admission Counselling has reached Phase 3. This is an important stage of the admission process. Students must carefully complete all the required steps after seat allotment. Missing any deadline can lead to the loss of the allotted seat.

Current Status of the Counselling Process

The first two phases of DU UG admission are now complete. These included:

• Phase 1 Registration

• Phase 2 Registration

• Correction Window

• Simulated Rank Release

• Preference Editing

The next important step is the First CSAS Seat Allotment List, which will be released on July 16.

First CSAS Seat Allotment List

The First CSAS Seat Allotment List will be announced on July 16. Seats will be allotted based on:

• CUET score and merit

• Category (if applicable)

• Preference list filled by the student

Some students may get their first-choice college or course, while others may receive a lower preference.

Seat Acceptance is Mandatory

Students must accept the allotted seat between July 16 and July 18.

If the seat is not accepted within the given time, it will be cancelled. The student will lose the admission chance for that round.

After accepting the seat, students should:

• Check the allotment details.

• Wait for document verification.

• Pay the admission fee before the deadline.

Freeze or Upgrade After Seat Allotment

After accepting the allotted seat, students have two choices.

Freeze the Seat

Choose Freeze if the allotted college and course are satisfactory. The current seat will be confirmed, and no further upgrade will be considered.

Upgrade the Seat

Choose Upgrade to get a higher preference in the next counselling round.

Before selecting Upgrade, students should remember:

• Upgrades depend on seat availability.

• Higher preference seats are highly competitive.

• There is no guarantee of getting a better seat.

Students with very high marks may already receive one of their top preferences in the first round. Such students should think carefully before choosing the upgrade option.

Mid-Entry Option

Students who missed the earlier application deadline can use the Mid-Entry option.

However, only a few seats are usually available through this process. Because of this, competition is very high.

Second Round of Counselling

The second round of DU UG counselling will begin on July 25. Students who choose the upgrade option or are waiting for another allotment can take part in this round.
