Airforce Agniveer Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the Airforce Exam, candidates must satisfy the age, educational qualification, and medical standards. The general requirements are as follows:

Age Limit

Candidates must be between the minimum and maximum age prescribed in the official notification. The age limit is typically set so that candidates are around 17 to 21 years of age at the time of enrolment.

Passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR Passed a 3-year Diploma Course in Engineering (any stream) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

Passed 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

 Note: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible for the Air Force Agniveer Vayu examination.

Airforce Exam Pattern

The selection process for Agniveer Vayu consists of three phases. Phase I is the online written test, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Airforce X & Y Syllabus Overview

For effective preparation, candidates must have a clear understanding of the Airforce X & Y syllabus for each subject.

Group X (Science Subjects) Syllabus

  • English: Focuses on Grammar (Tenses, Parts of Speech, etc.), Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases), and Reading Comprehension.

  • Physics: Topics include Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Power & Energy, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electrostatics, and Modern Physics.

  • Mathematics: Covers Sets, Relations and Functions, Trigonometry, Matrices and Determinants, Calculus (Differentiation & Integration), Coordinate Geometry, and Probability.

Group Y (Other Than Science Subjects) Syllabus

  • English: The syllabus is the same as for Group X.

  • Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA):

    • Reasoning: Covers Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, including topics like Number Series, Analogy, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Distance, and Direction Sense Test.

    • General Awareness: Includes Static GK (History, Geography, Civics, General Science) and Current Affairs.

Airforce Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates who successfully qualify in the Phase I Online Test are called for Phase II, which includes the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Tests.

Adaptability Tests

After qualifying the PFT, candidates must undergo two Adaptability Tests (I & II), which assess the candidate's suitability to adapt to the Indian Air Force environment and way of life.

Airforce Medical Standards

The final phase of selection is the Medical Examination (Phase III), which assesses a candidate's overall physical and mental health. Key Air Force medical standards include:

  • Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms (Males).

  • Chest: Minimum range of expansion must be 5 cms.

  • Weight: Should be proportionate to height and age.

  • Hearing: The candidate should be able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.

  • Dental: Must have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

  • Surgery: Corneal surgery (PRK/LASIK) is generally not acceptable.

  5. Airforce Previous Year Papers & Mock Tests: Make it a priority to solve Airforce previous year papers and take full-length mock tests regularly. This helps in time management and familiarizes you with the exam environment and question types.

  6. Focus on RAGA: For Group Y, stay updated on current affairs by reading newspapers and magazines daily to score high in the General Awareness section.

  7. Regular Revision: Schedule daily or weekly revision sessions to reinforce important formulas, concepts, and notes.

Airforce Admit Card and Results

The Air Force Admit Card for Phase I is released a few days before the online examination and can be downloaded from the official CASB website using the candidate's login credentials. Candidates who qualify for Phase I will be issued a new Admit Card for Phase II.

The final merit list and results are declared on the official CASB portal after the completion of all three phases, including the medical examination. Always refer to the official website for the most accurate and timely updates.
