Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification & Age Limit

Candidates must meet the requisite trade qualification and age limits as on the closing date of application receipt.

1. Educational & Technical Qualifications

  • Fireman & Leading Fireman: Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized Board. Must be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, appliances, and rescue drills.

  • Civilian Motor Driver (OG): Matriculation pass. Must possess a valid driving licence for both Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) and Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) with at least 2 years of driving experience.

  • Fire Engine Driver: Matriculation pass. Must hold a valid heavy vehicle driving licence and possess a minimum of 3 years of heavy vehicle driving experience.

  • Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI): 10th pass with a Diploma or Certificate in Catering from a recognized vocational institution.

  • Cook: Matriculation pass with proficiency in Indian cooking and knowledge of trade duties.

  • Tradesman Mate, Cleaner & MTS (Chowkidar): 10th pass with basic trade proficiency.

2. Physical Measurement Standards (for Fireman / Leading Fireman)

  • Height (without shoes): 165 cm (concession of 2.5 cm for Scheduled Tribes).

  • Chest (Unexpanded / Expanded): 81.5 cm / 85.0 cm.

  • Weight: Minimum 50 kg.

  • Endurance Standards: Carrying a person weighing 63.5 kg over a distance of 183 metres within 96 seconds, clearing a 2.7-metre wide ditch, and climbing a 3-metre vertical rope.

3. Age Limit & Relaxations

  • General Age Limit: 18 to 25 years for Fireman, Leading Fireman, Cook, Tradesman Mate, Cleaner, MTS, Fire Engine Driver, and CCI.

  • Civilian Motor Driver Age Limit: 18 to 27 years.

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Upper age relaxation up to 3 years (28/30 years).

  • SC / ST Candidates: Upper age relaxation up to 5 years (30/32 years).

  • Ex-Servicemen / Departmental Candidates: Relaxations as per prevailing Central Government service rules.

The Army ASC Centre South Selection Process is conducted in sequential phases at the ASC Centre (South) premises in Bangalore.

Stage 1: Document Screening & Physical/Skill Test
