The BSF Tradesman recruitment process consists of multiple stages, including the written examination, physical tests, trade test, document verification, and medical examination. The physical test is a crucial stage, and only candidates who meet the required fitness and physical standards are allowed to proceed further.
The physical test includes two mandatory stages:
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Physical Standard Test (PST)
The Physical Efficiency Test evaluates a candidate’s stamina and overall physical fitness through a running test. The race distance and time limits are as follows:
Male Candidates: 1.6 km race in 8 minutes 30 seconds
Female Candidates: 5 km race in 24 minutes
Candidates must qualify the PET to be considered for the Physical Standards Test.
Candidates who clear the PET are assessed for physical measurements under the Physical Standards Test. The height, chest, and weight requirements vary by category and region, as prescribed by BSF norms.
