Educational Qualification

Candidates need to possess an LLB Degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. This degree can be either a three-year professional course after graduation or a five-year integrated course after 10+2. A valid CLAT PG 2025 Score is mandatory for all applicants, including those with LLM degrees or those appearing for LLM. Applicants must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State and hold their LLB degree and marksheet at the time of application. The CLAT PG 2025 result verification is required at the Selection Centre before the SSB.

Indian Army JAG Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Indian Army JAG 124th Course October recruitment 2026 is a multi-stage procedure designed to identify suitable candidates for the Short Service Commission.

  3. Conduct of SSB: Eligible candidates will undergo a five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview at designated centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Jalandhar). This process includes a two-stage selection; only candidates clearing Stage I proceed to Stage II.

  4. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended after completing Stage II of the SSB will proceed for a thorough medical examination.

  5. Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview. Tie-breaking rules include age and qualifying examination marks.

  6. Joining Pre-Commission Training Academy (PCTA): Medically fit candidates from the merit list, within the stipulated vacancies, will receive Joining Letters for training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

Indian Army JAG Salary & Job Profile 2026

Officers commissioned through the Indian Army JAG 124th Course, October recruitment 2026, will receive an attractive salary package and various benefits. During the 49-week training period at OTA, candidates will receive a stipend of ₹ 56,100 per month. Upon commissioning as a Lieutenant, the CTC is approximately ₹ 17-18 Lakh per annum. The Military Service Pay (MSP) for officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier is a fixed ₹ 15,500 per month. Additionally, officers are entitled to allowances like Dearness Allowance, Para Allowance (₹ 10,500), Special Forces Allowance (₹ 25,000), Children Education Allowance (₹ 2,250 per child per month), and various other perks. The tenure for the Short Service Commission is 14 years, with options for permanent commission in the 10th year.
