Candidates who clear Stage I (INET) will be shortlisted for Stage II, which includes:

1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

PFT is mandatory and tests the candidate's physical endurance and fitness levels. Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extracurricular activities is desirable​.

2. Stage II Written Exam

Candidates who pass the PFT will appear for another written examination.

3. Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify for the PFT & Written Examination must undergo a Medical Examination at designated Military Hospitals.

Stage III – Final Selection & Training

1. Provisional Merit List

A Provisional Select List will be prepared based on:

  • PFT & Written Exam Performance (Stage II)

  • Medical Examination Results

The merit list will be state-wise, and candidates with higher scores will be given preference.

Note: If multiple candidates have the same score, older candidates (by Date of Birth) will be given preference​.

2. Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka

Candidates selected from the merit list will undergo a final medical examination at INS Chilka, Odisha before induction.

3. Training at INS Chilka

  • Training for MR (Agniveer 02/2025) will start in September 2025.

  • The total training period will be as per Indian Navy regulations.

  • Candidates will be inducted under the Agnipath Scheme for 4 years.
