How to Apply for NCC Special Entry Online

Candidates can apply through the Join Indian Army NCC Entry portal by following these steps.

  1. Visit the official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in.

  2. Click on 'Officer Entry Apply/Login' on the homepage.

  3. New candidates should complete registration with a valid email ID and mobile number. Candidates who are already registered can log in directly.

  4. Log in to the dashboard and select the 125th NCC Special Entry Course (April 2027) from the list of entries.

  5. Fill in personal, communication, educational, and NCC details in the application form.

  6. Upload the required documents, including a photograph, signature, degree marksheets, and NCC 'C' Certificate.

  7. Check every detail carefully, since changes are not allowed once the form is submitted.

  8. Submit the form and take a printout of two copies for future reference.

The vacancies for Wards of Battle Casualties are open to unmarried sons of Army personnel who were killed in action, died of wounds, were wounded or injured in action, or are missing presumed dead. These candidates do not need an NCC 'C' Certificate, but they must meet the same educational qualification.

NCC Special Entry Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should read the NCC Special Entry Eligibility conditions carefully before filling the form, since the application cannot be edited after submission.

Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

The NCC Special Entry Age Limit for the 125th Course is 19 to 25 years as on 1 January 2027. This means candidates should be born between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2008, both dates included. Age relaxation applies to reserved categories as per government rules.

Marital Status

Only unmarried male candidates can apply. A candidate should stay unmarried until the completion of training.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Final-year or final-semester students can also apply, provided their result is declared before the course begins on 1 April 2027. For such candidates, the marks scored in the earlier years of the degree course will be used for shortlisting.

NCC 'C' Certificate Entry Requirement

This is the main condition for the NCC C Certificate Entry. The candidate must hold an NCC 'C' Certificate with at least a 'B' Grade. The candidate should have served for a minimum of two or three years, as applicable, in the Senior Division or Senior Wing of NCC. A provisional NCC 'C' Certificate can be used at the time of application, but only the final certificate is accepted at the SSB interview stage. This condition does not apply to candidates applying under the Wards of Battle Casualties Entry.

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the height, weight, and medical fitness standards set by the Indian Army for officer entries. Exact physical standards are given in the detailed notification on the official website.

NCC Special Entry Selection Process

The NCC Special Entry Selection Process for the 125th Course has five stages. There is no written exam in this entry.

  1. Application Submission: Candidates fill the online form and submit personal, educational, and NCC details.

  2. Shortlisting of Applications: Applications are shortlisted using bonus marks out of 100. Up to 50 marks are given for the NCC 'C' Certificate grade (50 marks for 'A' Grade, 25 marks for 'B' Grade), and up to 50 marks for graduation percentage (0 marks below 60%, rising to 50 marks for 85% and above).

  3. SSB Centre and Date Selection: Shortlisted candidates choose their SSB centre and interview date on a first-come, first-served basis.

  4. SSB Interview: The interview runs over five days in two stages at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.

  5. Medical Examination and Merit List: Candidates who clear the SSB undergo a medical test. A final merit list is prepared based on SSB marks, and joining letters are issued to selected candidates for training at OTA Chennai.

NCC Special Entry Scheme for Men Salary and Training Details

Selected candidates undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai. During training, they receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month. On successful completion of training, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenant and receive pay and allowances as applicable to Short Service Commission officers of the Indian Army.
