According to The EurAsian Times, The WDMMA website assesses and ranks the combat abilities of the world's air forces.

As per the 2022 reports of WDMMA website, the Indian Air Force was ranked 3rd strongest globally based on their True Value Rating (TvR) scoring formula, which considers factors like modernization, attack power, and defense capacity.

The Indian Air Force surpassed the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, the Israeli Air Force, & French Air and Space Force. The Indian Air Force consists of a fleet of 1,645 operational aircraft. While India welcomed the ranking, some Chinese netizens questioned both the capabilities of the Indian Air Force and the validity of the WDMMA rankings.

Strongest Air Forces of the World

1. United States Air Force

The United States Air Force (USAF) maintains its top position in the world with an outstanding margin. As of 2021, the USAF possesses a massive fleet of 5,217 active aircraft, Making it the largest, most technologically advanced, and most powerful air force globally. While lacking certain fighter jets like the F-35 Lightning II or F-15 Strike Eagle, the USAF boasts 792 AH-64 75 MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones and Apache attack helicopters in its service, contributing significantly to its top-ranking position.

2. Russian Air Force

Although the Russian Air Force has diminished compared to its former Soviet Air Force counterpart, it remains a formidable and potent air force. Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1992, the Russian Air Force was departed with 1,900 combat aircraft. However, Russia has continuously improved its air defense capabilities and produced powerful combat planes like the Mikoyan MIG-31 'Foxhound,' which exhibits remarkable and fierce capabilities.
