• How did you get enrolled at NIFT? Could you describe the basic admissions procedure? I enrolled at NIFT by taking the admission test, which requires a minimum of 50% in the qualifying exam. The admission process includes the General Aptitude Test (GAT) followed by the Creative Aptitude Test (CAT). Successful candidates proceed to the Situation Test, where they create a 3D model. Final admission is based on rankings across various NIFT campuses.

• Is life at a design college what you expected? No, it's different from what I imagined. While I didn't expect glamour, I did anticipate more opportunities for enjoyment. However, there's considerable pressure and the coursework demands significant effort.

• What does a typical day at college look like for you? College days vary, starting around 8:30 a.m. and typically ending between 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., depending on lectures and workload. There's a continuous cycle of preparing presentations and paperwork.

• What is the first thing someone would notice at NIFT Delhi? The noticeable aspect of NIFT Delhi is its vibrant student community, which defines the college atmosphere.

• Name five positive aspects of your college. Firstly, the vibrant student community. Secondly, the dedicated faculty. Thirdly, the Nescafe kiosks offering delicious and affordable sandwiches and muffins (priced at Rs 15 for muffins and Rs 25-30 for sandwiches, with Rs 10 for iced tea). Fourthly, comprehensive stationery facilities. Lastly, the Resource Centre, where alumni provide valuable guidance.

• What changes would you like to see in your college? I would like to see the outdated infrastructure modernized to enhance the overall experience.

• Are there hostel facilities available at the college? Previously available, hostel facilities have been repurposed due to expanded courses. There is an off-campus hostel for female students, while male students do not currently have access to hostel accommodations.

• How strict is the college? How are classes conducted? The college enforces a 65% attendance requirement per subject and 75% overall attendance. Classes are conducted with adherence to these attendance guidelines.

• What is the college's assessment procedure like? Occasionally, surprise tests are conducted, though they are infrequent. However, regular semester-end examinations are held centrally for all NIFT campuses, akin to Board exams. For instance, an exam taken in Delhi is evaluated at NIFT Kolkata. At the end of each semester, we undergo Juries where our work is assessed comprehensively through presentations and documentation.

• Do you have any advice for students interested in attending your college? For those considering NIFT Delhi, my advice is straightforward: prepare to work diligently. While the entrance exam and admission process might seem manageable, the real challenge lies in maintaining pace with the rigorous coursework once enrolled. Admission is just the beginning; the real effort starts with the commencement of your program.
