NIFT Syllabus 2024 - The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is set to release the results of the NIFT 2024 written exam shortly. Candidates selected for the B.Des program are required to participate in the Situation Test, which is a practical assessment. This test aims to assess the candidate's proficiency in material handling and innovative capabilities within a specified scenario using provided materials. Conversely, candidates shortlisted for the master's program will undergo Case Study-based Group Discussions (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI). The GDPI session will last for 15-20 minutes. The NIFT 2024 written exam took place on February 5, 2024, featuring both GAT and CAT papers. While the GAT was compulsory for all courses, only candidates applying for B.Des and M.Des programs were required to sit for the CAT.

NIFT 2024 Situation Test Syllabus

B.Des candidates will advance to a Situation Test based on their performance in the written exams (CAT and GAT) of NIFT 2024. Here are the key aspects of the NIFT 2024 Situation Test:
  • The Situation Test is a practical assessment focusing on evaluating the candidate’s proficiency in material handling and innovative abilities within a given scenario, using provided materials.
  • Candidates are required to create a model or design utilizing the materials provided.
  • Usage of any materials other than those provided within the exam venue is strictly prohibited.
  • Space visualization, inventive and imaginative use of the provided materials, element composition, color scheme, building expertise, model elegance, and overall presentation are just a few of the characteristics that will be considered while evaluating the model. Candidates must also include a written explanation of the concept behind their model with it; this explanation must be in English. Articles written in any other language will not be graded.
  • Candidates are instructed not to reveal their identity in any manner, as any attempt to do so may result in disqualification.
  • The Situation Test will be assessed on the spot, and it's important to note that the model will not be retained for future reference.
  • Candidates shortlisted for Masters Programs from the written entrance examination must participate in Case Study-based Group Discussions (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI).

The Group Discussion (GD) will involve a discussion lasting approximately 15 to 20 minutes on a designated case study. During this session, a panel of experts will evaluate candidates based on several criteria, including:
