The UCEED Age Limit 2027 is an important eligibility requirement for candidates planning to appear for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. The age criterion is based on the candidate's date of birth and category, with a separate cutoff for OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Based on the eligibility pattern followed by IIT Bombay and available 2027 references, the cutoff for UCEED 2027 is expected to be October 1, 2002 for OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and October 1, 1997 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Candidates should check the official IIT Bombay information brochure when it is released for final confirmation.

UCEED Age Limit 2027 for General Category

For the OPEN category, the expected UCEED 2027 requirement is:

  • Candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2002.

  • Candidates born before October 1, 2002 would not meet the expected age criterion.

  • The age criterion is based on the candidate's date of birth rather than a stated maximum-age number.

The same birth-date cutoff is expected to apply to EWS and OBC-NCL candidates.

UCEED Age Limit 2027 for EWS and OBC-NCL

EWS and OBC-NCL candidates are expected to follow the same age criterion as the OPEN category.

EWS

  • Expected birth date: October 1, 2002 or later

  • Candidates must meet the applicable EWS eligibility requirements to claim EWS benefits.

OBC-NCL

  • Expected birth date: October 1, 2002 or later

  • Candidates claiming OBC-NCL benefits must have valid documentation as prescribed by IIT Bombay.

OBC candidates who do not qualify under the applicable NCL requirements should check the category rules in the official UCEED 2027 brochure before applying.

UCEED Age Limit 2027 for SC, ST and PwD

SC, ST and PwD candidates are expected to receive a five-year relaxation in the age cutoff.

  • PwD: Born on or after October 1, 1997

The 2026 official brochure provided the same five-year difference between the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and SC/ST/PwD cutoffs.

How to Check Your UCEED Age Eligibility 2027

Candidates can check their eligibility using their date of birth and category.

  1. Check your date of birth on your official documents.

  2. Identify your category, such as OPEN, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD.

  3. Compare your birth date with the applicable cutoff.

  4. Check the official UCEED 2027 brochure before submitting the application.

  5. Keep the required documents ready for verification.

For example, a candidate born on September 30, 2002 would not meet the expected OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL cutoff of October 1, 2002. A candidate born on October 1, 2002 would meet the expected date requirement.

UCEED Age Limit 2027 and BDes Admission

Meeting the age criterion for appearing in UCEED does not by itself guarantee admission to a BDes programme. Candidates must also meet the other eligibility conditions prescribed for BDes admission.

For UCEED 2026, IIT Bombay required BDes applicants to fulfil three criteria: the age requirement, a valid UCEED qualification, and the prescribed Class XII or equivalent qualification requirement.

Therefore, candidates should check the complete UCEED 2027 eligibility criteria rather than considering the age requirement alone.

Documents Required to Verify UCEED Age Eligibility

Candidates should keep documents that clearly establish their date of birth and category, where applicable.

  • Birth certificate

  • Class X certificate or marksheet

  • Class XII documents, where applicable

  • Valid category certificate for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates

  • PwD certificate, where applicable

  • Other documents specified by IIT Bombay

The exact document requirements should be checked in the official UCEED 2027 application instructions.

Important Points About UCEED Age Limit 2027

  • SC/ST/PwD candidates are expected to receive a five-year age relaxation.

  • OBC-NCL candidates follow the OPEN/EWS age cutoff.

  • Age eligibility is only one part of the complete UCEED eligibility criteria.

  • The final UCEED 2027 age cutoff should be checked in the official IIT Bombay information brochure when released.
