COMEDK
Candidates from all over the country can appear for the UGET 2019 entrance examination. The eligibility criterion for various programs has been as published by COMEDK in its Notification dated on its website www.comedk.org which is reproduced as under:-
FOR UG ENGINEERING COURSES
- The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
- The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
- An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.
- Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
FOR UG ARCHITECTURE COURSES
- The prescribed qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2
- Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka).
- The candidates should have qualified a recognized aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent) in 2018.
- There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch course shall submit separate application form for counseling as per the notification on COMEDK website (will be made available before counseling)
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
The following shall be the eligibility criteria for Engineering and Architecture courses.
Engineering:

Architecture:
- The prescribed qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained atleast 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka).
- All the candidates (including SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) seeking admission to B.Arch shall pass the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE
- Paper - 2. Qualification in NATA is subject to the candidate getting at least cut-off marks in two individual components and also getting at least the qualifying marks in aggregate.
- There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.
- Candidates seeking B. Arch course shall submit separate application for participation in the Counseling.
What is the Domicile Criteria to be considered into Karnataka Category?
The candidates will be considered under Karnataka Category, only if the following rules of domicile are the following:
- If the candidate belongs to Karnataka state by birth/ is domicile and have schooling for a minimum period of 07 academic years commencing from 01st standard to II PUC / 12th Standard as on 01st July of the year of entrance exam. The candidate should have passed either SSLC / 10th Standard or 2nd PUC / 12th Standard or equivalent qualifying examination from Karnataka State. In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.
- Candidates who have studied and passed both 1st and 2nd year PUC or 11th and 12th standard examination within the State of Karnataka from an Educational Institution run or recognized by the State Government and either of the candidate’s parents should have studied in an educational institution of Karnataka for a minimum period of 07 years. In this case, such candidates have to produce certificates issued by the competent authority to show that either the candidate or their parents (Father / Mother) has been a resident of Karnataka State and study certificate/s against their claim at the time of counseling.
