Expected Cutoffs and Safety Zones for 2026

Based on past years’ data, students can guess the expected cutoff and find a safe score range for 2026.

  • Mechanical Engineering: A score of around 90 out of 300 is considered safe. This means about 30 correct answers. The cutoff may go up to around 100.

  • Chemical Engineering: Cutoffs are usually high. A score near 150 is considered safe.

  • Electrical Engineering: A score around 125 gives a good chance of selection.

  • Civil Engineering: A score between 105 and 110 gives a good chance to clear the cutoff.

  • Instrumentation Engineering (IN): Cutoff is usually low. In some years, it was as low as 52. A low cutoff is expected again.

  • Electronics Engineering (EC): Cutoffs are decreasing in recent years. A lower cutoff is expected for 2026.
