Candidates receive financial support during their training period:
Monthly Stipend: ₹74,000 per month for both OCES TSOs and DGFS fellows.
Book Allowance (OCES): A one-time payment of ₹30,000.
DGFS Tuition Fee: Full reimbursement of M.Tech tuition fees.
Contingency Grant (DGFS): ₹60,000 per annum for two years.
Project Funding (DGFS): Additional funding up to ₹4,00,000 under the BRNS fast track project scheme for equipment/consumables.
Hostel Facility: Mandatory boarding and lodging in DAE or DGFS institute hostels.
Upon successful completion of training, TSOs are appointed as Scientific Officers.
Pay Level: Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
Basic Pay: ₹56,100.
Performance-Based Increments: * OCES TSOs: 2 or 3 increments based on performance.
DGFS Fellows: 3 or 4 increments based on performance (zero increments if performance is below a threshold).
Total Monthly Emoluments: Approximately ₹1,35,000 (including DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance) for those posted in Mumbai.
Scientific Officers are eligible for several government-approved benefits:
Leave Travel Concession (LTC): Every year for the first eight years (subject to conditions) and every two years thereafter.
Children’s Education Allowance: Payable as per government norms.
