The online application process for CIL MT Recruitment 2026 will start from 12th May 2026, allowing eligible candidates to submit their forms through the official portal. The last date to apply online is 11th June 2026, after which no applications will be accepted. The CIL MT Exam 2026 is expected to be conducted in July 2026 for shortlisted candidates.
To be eligible for the CIL Management Trainee positions, candidates must meet specific academic requirements:
Applicants are required to possess a B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. degree in the relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

Civil Discipline: B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
Electrical Engineering Discipline: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering.

The selection for Management Trainee positions (excluding Mining) will be determined by performance in the Computer-Based Test (CBT). This examination will be conducted at various centers nationwide. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CBT scores and subsequently included in the merit list. The CBT is structured into two distinct papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The age criteria for the Management Trainee recruitment are as follows:
Age Limit: The maximum age for applicants is 30 years.
Age Relaxation:
OBC: Candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes are eligible for a 3-year age relaxation.
SC/ST: Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates receive a 5-year age relaxation.
PwBD candidates: Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be provided as per government norms.
In a separate announcement, recruitment for Mining Branch Management Trainees will follow a different process. Consistent with last year's policy, positions in Mining will continue to be filled based on GATE scores.
