Educational Qualifications

• Project Assistant-I: 10th Pass / SSLC plus ITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or Manufacturing.

• Project Assistant-II: Diploma in Engineering/Technology or B.Sc in relevant scientific subjects.

• Project Associate-I: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences.

• Project Associate-II: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology plus 2 years of relevant research/industrial experience, or Master's Degree with experience.

• Senior PAT: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 3 years of experience or Master's Degree with 2 years of experience.

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Maximum Age Limit: 35 years for general candidates.

• SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: Age relaxation of up to 5 years.

• OBC Candidates: Age relaxation of up to 3 years.

CSIR-NAL Selection Process 2026

CSIR-NAL Selection Process 2026 includes the document registration and verification, interview, and panel formation stages to evaluate the candidates' performance. 

• Document Registration & Verification: Candidates report to the venue during the morning registration window (9:00 AM to 9:45 AM). Officials verify original educational documents, age proof, identity cards, and category certificates.

• Personal Interview: Candidates who pass the initial document screening appear before a selection committee. Questions assess subject knowledge, technical understanding, practical experience, and project suitability.

• Panel Formation: The committee publishes a merit list and a waitlist panel valid for up to one year. Selected candidates receive offer letters based on immediate project requirements.

CSIR-NAL Salary 2026

The selected project staff candidates receive a monthly consolidated stipend along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible per CSIR norms. Candidates can check the CSIR-NAL Salary 2026 structure depending on the posts.

• Project Assistant-I (PA-I): ₹18,000 + HRA per month

• Project Assistant-II (PA-II): ₹20,000 + HRA per month

• Project Associate-I (PAT-I): ₹25,000 + HRA per month

• Project Associate-I (NET/GATE Qualified): ₹31,000 + HRA per month

• Project Associate-II (PAT-II): ₹28,000 + HRA per month
