IIT JAM 2026 AIR 33 Biotechnology Topper Milan Kumar Jha: Preparation Strategy and Success Story

For Milan Kumar Jha, IIT JAM Biotechnology preparation was not simply about covering one subject after another. The syllabus brought together several areas, and managing them while maintaining conceptual clarity became one of the biggest challenges of his preparation.

Instead of allowing the volume of the syllabus to dictate his preparation, Milan gradually developed a more systematic approach. With regular revision, question practice, mock tests and academic support from Physics Wallah, he worked on his weaker areas and eventually secured AIR 33 in IIT JAM 2026 Biotechnology.

The IIT JAM Biotechnology Syllabus Initially Felt Overwhelming

One of Milan’s first challenges was figuring out how to manage the breadth of the Biotechnology syllabus. With different areas requiring attention, covering everything initially seemed difficult.

“Mujhe laga ki itna sab kaise cover karunga, especially Biotechnology ka syllabus bahut bada hai.”

Subjects such as Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology meant that his preparation could not depend on studying topics randomly. He also knew that PCM could not be left for the final stage of preparation.

“Agar paper easy aa gaya toh PCM deciding factor reh sakta hai. Isliye maine PCM ki pehle se hi preparation start kar di thi.”

Milan gradually developed a more systematic approach, working on PCM alongside Biotechnology instead of postponing it until the last few months.

Some Concepts Needed More Than One Round of Preparation

For Milan, preparation was not only about completing topics once. Regular practice and revision were important, especially for areas such as Mathematics that can initially seem difficult to Biotechnology students.

“Maths mein syllabus mein bahut likh rakha hai, par IIT JAM mein bahut aasan questions aate hain.”

Instead of trying to give equal attention to every topic, Milan noticed that certain areas appeared repeatedly in IIT JAM and focused his practice accordingly.

“Jo part hamesha repeat ho raha hai, jis part se questions aate hain, har baar usi part se questions aa rahe hain usually.”

He specifically mentioned limits, matrices and probability among the recurring areas. Revisiting such topics regularly helped him make PCM a continuous part of his Biotechnology preparation rather than something to cover only before the exam.

How Physics Wallah Helped Simplify Difficult Concepts

As Milan worked through his conceptual difficulties, Physics Wallah became part of his preparation. He particularly valued the way difficult topics were explained by the faculty.

“Physics Wallah ke teachers ne complex cheezein bahut simple tarike se samjhaye.”

Having difficult concepts broken into simpler parts helped him work on areas where his understanding was initially weaker.

He also found the doubt support useful during preparation.

“Doubt Engine bahut helpful tha.”

Instead of allowing individual doubts to remain unresolved, Milan could address them while continuing with his preparation.

Regular Revision Helped Him Strengthen His Preparation

For Milan, covering the syllabus was only one part of the process. Revision had to continue alongside new topics so that concepts studied earlier remained fresh.

“Revision saath-saath mein karte hi rehna hai.”

He particularly advised aspirants not to wait until the final months before returning to previously studied topics.

“Agar revision time pe nahi kiya toh pehle ka padha bahut saara bhool jaate hain.”

This approach helped Milan keep revision connected with his regular preparation rather than treating it as something to begin only after completing the syllabus. For future aspirants, his advice was simple: study continuously and keep revisiting what you have already covered.

Mock Tests Helped Milan Work on Accuracy and Time

Along with revision, mock tests became another important part of Milan’s preparation. He used them to assess his performance and recognise areas where improvement was still required.

“Mock tests aur regular revision se meri accuracy bahut badhi.”

The practice also helped him become more conscious of time management.

“Time management bhi improve hua.”

By analysing his preparation through repeated practice, Milan could work on both subject knowledge and the ability to use that knowledge efficiently during an exam.

From a Vast Syllabus to AIR 33 in IIT JAM Biotechnology

Milan’s preparation began with a question many Biotechnology aspirants face: how do you manage such a broad syllabus without losing conceptual clarity?

His answer developed gradually through concept building, regular revision, doubt resolution and mock-test practice. Rather than depending on a single preparation technique, he worked on the specific problems that were affecting his performance.

That approach eventually led to AIR 33 in IIT JAM 2026 Biotechnology. Milan Kumar Jha’s journey shows how breaking a large syllabus into manageable preparation goals, strengthening difficult concepts and repeatedly testing your progress can make a challenging target more achievable.
