Candidates can follow these steps once the answer key is released:
Step 1: Visit the official IIT JAM 2026 website.
Step 2: Click on the “Master Question Papers & Answer Keys” section.
Step 3: Select your respective subject paper.
Step 4: Download the answer key PDF and save it for reference.
After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be given an opportunity to raise objections within the specified timeline.
To challenge the answer key:
Log in using your JOAPS credentials.
Select the question you wish to challenge.
Upload supporting documents as proof.
Pay the required objection fee (if applicable).
After reviewing all challenges, the final answer key will be published. No objections will be accepted after the deadline.
Candidates can estimate their probable score using the official marking scheme:
Compare your responses with the official answer key.
Add marks for correct answers (+1 for 1-mark questions, +2 for 2-mark questions).
Deduct negative marks (-1/3 for 1-mark wrong answers, -2/3 for 2-mark wrong answers).
No negative marking for NAT questions.
