The National Testing Agency (NTA) officially activated the download link for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Admit Card on March 29, 2026. With Session 1 results already declared and the final push for the April session underway, candidates are expected to appear for the exam between April 2 and April 8.
However, several aspirants have reported discrepancies in their admit cards ranging from spelling errors in names to blurred photographs and missing signatures. In a high-stakes environment where biometric verification is mandatory, even a minor clerical error can lead to a "no-entry" scenario at the exam centre. Understanding the latest rectification protocol is essential for every student appearing this week.
Based on candidate feedback following the March 29 release, the following issues are most prevalent:
Personal Detail Mismatch: Spelling errors in the candidate’s name or father’s name that do not match the Aadhaar or government ID.
Image Distortions: The photograph appears blurred, "red-eyed," or completely blank.
Signature Errors: An illegible or missing signature, or a signature replaced by a placeholder.
Technical Glitches: Missing Barcodes or QR codes, which are important for the automated frisking process at centres.
It is important to follow only official channels. If you find an error, do not panic. Follow these steps immediately:
The NTA has a dedicated technical cell for Session 2. Reach out between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM:
Helpline Numbers: 011-40759000 / 011-69227700
Official Email: jeemain@nta.ac.in
When sending an email, use a clear subject line: "URGENT: Correction in JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Admit Card - [Application No]". Attach the following:
Copy of the erroneous Admit Card.
The JEE Main 2026 Confirmation Page (proof of correct data).
A valid ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN) for name/DOB corrections.
If NTA is unable to provide a revised admit card before your shift, you may be allowed to appear with an Undertaking. This requires you to carry the original application form and a physical copy of your correspondence with NTA to the Center Superintendent.
To ensure a smooth experience during the April 2–8 window, ensure you carry:
Clear Admit Card: Preferably a colour printout on A4 paper.
Passport Size Photo: Must be the same one used in the application.
Original ID Proof: PAN card, Aadhaar, or Passport. (Note: Photocopies are strictly prohibited).
PwD Certificate: If applicable, along with scribe-related documents.
According to the NTA Guidelines, candidates must avoid any "Unfair Means" (UFM). Manually altering your admit card with a pen or digital editor is considered a serious offense and may lead to a permanent ban from NTA exams.
