
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the NTA scores for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1 on February 16, 2026. This release focuses on Paper 1, which is required for admission to B.E. and B. Tech. programs. The examination was conducted in January 2026 across 658 centres globally.
The examination saw a very high level of participation from registered candidates.
Total Registered Candidates: 13,55,293 students signed up for the exam.
Total Appeared Candidates: 13,04,653 students successfully took the test.
Attendance Rate: The overall attendance percentage was 96.26%

Perfect Scorers: A total of 12 candidates achieved a perfect NTA score of 100.
Male Toppers: All 12 candidates who scored 100 percentile were male.
Female Topper: Ashi Grewal from Haryana emerged as the top female candidate with an NTA score of 99.9969766.

The NTA score is a normalized value, not a percentage of marks. It reflects the relative performance of a candidate compared to others in the same shift. Marks are transformed into a scale from 100 to 0 to ensure fairness across different difficulty levels of exam shifts.
The final ranks for all candidates will be released only after Session 2 of the JEE Main 2026 is completed. The NTA will use the best score out of the two sessions for candidates who appear in both.
