JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Eligibility Criteria: National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main 2026 in two sessions, with Session 2 scheduled for April 2026. Before applying, candidates must carefully check the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 eligibility criteria to ensure they meet all requirements. Eligibility is primarily based on educational qualification, year of passing Class 12, and qualifying examination type. There is no age restriction to appear for the exam; however, admission criteria of individual institutes may differ. Candidates who missed Session 1 or wish to improve their scores can apply for Session 2, provided they satisfy the eligibility conditions notified by NTA.
To appear for JEE Main 2026 Session 2, candidates must fulfill the eligibility norms prescribed by NTA. Applicants should have passed or be appearing in the Class 12 or equivalent examination within the permitted years. The eligibility criteria are common for both sessions of JEE Main 2026. Meeting the exam eligibility does not automatically guarantee admission, as participating institutes may impose additional requirements. Candidates are advised to check eligibility carefully before completing the online application form.
Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized board or institution. Those who passed the Class 12 examination in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing in 2026, are eligible.
Accepted qualifying examinations include 10+2 examinations conducted by recognized boards, NIOS, vocational higher secondary exams, AICTE-approved diplomas (minimum 3 years), International Baccalaureate (IB), GCE Advanced Level, and other examinations recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Candidates of any age can apply, provided they meet the educational qualification criteria. However, aspirants must note that individual institutes such as NITs, IIITs, and other participating colleges may have their own age requirements for admission. NTA is responsible only for conducting the examination and does not regulate institute-specific admission conditions.
Only candidates who passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing in 2026, are eligible for JEE Main 2026. Candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are not eligible. The year in which the result was first declared as “pass” is considered the passing year, even if the candidate appeared later for improvement.
