National Institutes of Technology (NIT) Admission Procedure 2025

Candidates who qualify in JEE Main 2025 can secure admission to NITs through a centralized process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

• Registration and Choice Filling: Candidates must register and fill in their preferences for NITs and courses based on their JEE Main 2025 results.
• Counselling and Seat Allotment: JoSAA will conduct counselling sessions to allocate seats in NITs as per the NIT seat matrix 2025, taking into account candidates’ ranks, choices, and seat availability.

Following this, seat allotments will be made across NITs based on merit, category, and course preferences aligned with the official seat matrix.

NIT Seat Matrix 2025: Documents Required for NIT+ System Admission

Candidates participating in JoSAA Counselling 2025 for admission under the NIT+ System must keep the following documents ready:

• Proof of Date of Birth: Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate, Aadhaar Card, or Birth Certificate.

• Qualification Documents: Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate from the qualifying examination.

• JEE (Main) 2025: Admit Card.

• Category Certificate: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS (for OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS, certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2025).

• Disability Certificate: Original PwD Certificate for candidates with benchmark disabilities; those with less than 40% disability affecting writing must also provide valid proof.

• Bank Details: Copy or scanned image of the candidate’s Passbook or a crossed bank cheque.

• Medical Certificate: Must be in the format prescribed by JoSAA 2025.

• Additional Documents (if applicable): OCI certificate/PIO card, Passport, or Citizenship certificate.

Note: Candidates from Maharashtra State must get their SC/ST/OBC-NCL certificates validated by the respective Social Welfare or Tribal Welfare department.
