JEE Main General Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates should follow the JEE Main exam day guidelines to reach the exam centre on time. They can appear for the exam without any issues. 

  • Candidates should reach the JEE Main 2026 exam centre at least one hour before the scheduled exam time.

  • No candidate will be permitted to enter the venue after the gate closing time.

  • Examinees must remain inside the exam centre until the conclusion of the paper.

  • Those wearing specific attire for religious reasons should arrive earlier for thorough checks. Sikh candidates are permitted to wear religious articles such as "KARA" and "KIRPAN."

  • Candidates who did not register using an Aadhaar Card must arrive at least one hour in advance for verification.

  • Strictly follow all rules and regulations provided by the centre superintendent or invigilators.

  • Maintain social distancing throughout the examination process.

  • Upon entering the hall, candidates should immediately proceed to their assigned seats.

  • Before the exam begins, candidates can log in to read the instructions for JEE Main 2026.

  • A pen/pencil and blank paper for rough work will be supplied. Candidates must write their name and roll number on this sheet and return it to the invigilator.

  • Candidates need to complete the attendance sheet by signing, pasting a photograph, and providing a clear left thumb impression.

  • Candidates seeking PwD reservations must bring their valid PwD certificate and ID proof.

Items to Carry at JEE Main Exam Centre

Candidates must carry specific documents and items for identification and convenience during the JEE Main exam. These are crucial aspects of the NTA rules for JEE Main candidates.

  • Original admit card, ensuring all details are clear and readable.

  • A valid, government-issued photo identification proof (e.g., Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License).

  • At least two recent passport-sized photographs, preferably the same as those uploaded during the application.

  • For candidates with an NTA email regarding photo verification, this certificate must be carried.

  • A duly filled self-declaration form (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website, with a passport-sized photograph affixed and a left-hand thumb impression.

  • A transparent ballpoint pen.

  • Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml).

  • A personal transparent water bottle.

  • A mask and gloves.

  • For Paper 2 drawing test (B.Arch part 3), candidates should bring their geometry box, pencils, erasers, and color pencils/crayons.

JEE Main Dress Code

  • Thick-soled shoes are not allowed inside the examination centre.

  • Clothes with large buttons are also prohibited.

  • Jewellery and other metal items are not permitted.

  • Sikh candidates are allowed to wear their religious articles, such as "KARA" and "KIRPAN."

JEE Main Guidelines for Diabetic Candidates

  • Diabetic candidates are permitted to bring eatables like sugar tablets or whole fruits (e.g., bananas, apples, oranges) and transparent water bottles.

  • However, packed foods such as chocolate, candy, or sandwiches are not allowed inside the examination hall.

  • Any electronic devices, including mobile phones, calculators, slide rules, log tables, pagers, or electronic watches that serve as calculators.
