

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has shared official data for 2024-25 showing that students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) did really well in national exams. This year, 597 tribal students passed JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and NEET UG, a significant increase from previous years.
This shows that tribal students are getting better at preparing for engineering and medical exams. Improved school facilities, early guidance, and nationwide support programs have helped them achieve this success.

This year, 597 students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) cleared India’s top entrance exams:
JEE Main: 219 students
JEE Advanced: 34 students
NEET UG: 344 students
This is a big improvement compared to earlier years:
In 2023-24, only 16 students cleared JEE and 6 cleared NEET
In 2022-23, just 2 students cleared JEE
It shows a huge rise in the number of tribal students doing well in these exams.

This year, tribal students from across the country achieved excellent results in engineering and medical entrance exams. Here’s a look at the states with the highest number of qualifiers.
Gujarat – Best in NEET UG
Gujarat had the most students clearing NEET with 173 selections. This shows great improvement in medical exam preparation among tribal students.
Madhya Pradesh – Strong in Engineering and Medicine
Madhya Pradesh did well in all exams with 51 students clearing JEE Main, 10 clearing JEE Advanced, and 115 clearing NEET UG. Good coaching and school facilities helped students succeed.
Telangana – Best in JEE Main
Telangana had the highest number of JEE Main qualifiers with 60 students and also 10 students cleared JEE Advanced.
Odisha & Chhattisgarh – Steady Growth in Engineering
Odisha had 10 JEE Main and 4 JEE Advanced qualifiers. Chhattisgarh also did well in both engineering and medical exams.

These results are a big milestone for tribal education, showing a huge rise from just 2 students qualifying in 2022-23 to 597 in 2024-25. Government efforts like better coaching, digital classes, mentoring, and partnerships with top institutes have helped students perform much better. Now, more tribal students will get the chance to study at leading engineering and medical colleges, including IITs, NITs, and AIIMS, opening doors to brighter careers in engineering and medicine.
