JEE Main Registration 2026: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in its new notification, stated that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will require CBSE’s Class 11 registration number for JEE Main Registration 2026. Applicants must now enter their Class 11 CBSE registration number while filling JEE Main form. This move aims to streamline verification, match student records seamlessly. It will prevent any clash between CBSE Class 12 board exams and JEE Main sessions. Students are advised to keep their academic information ready well before the registration window opens.
To ensure that the JEE Main exam schedule does not clash with the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams, NTA has decided to collect the Class 11 CBSE Registration Number from every applicant. This unique identification helps NTA verify academic details, cross-check student records with CBSE, and coordinate exam dates more accurately.
By linking student data from Class 11 onwards, NTA can reduce scheduling conflicts and minimize administrative errors. Schools have been instructed to issue the Class 11 registration numbers to all students who plan to apply for JEE Main 2026, ensuring that they can enter the correct information during registration.
The mandatory Class 11 registration number ensures stronger verification and prevents exam overlaps.
Students must collect their Class 11 registration number from their school before the registration window opens.
Since the notification has been released only by CBSE, this requirement currently applies specifically to CBSE students. However, it is expected that other state boards and national boards may also issue similar guidelines soon. They may release updated schedules, registration numbers, or verification instructions to ensure smooth coordination with NTA and avoid clashes with their own Class 12 board exams. As JEE Main is a national-level exam, state boards may also align their processes accordingly.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the full schedule on its official website. Students are advised to check the official website to check for updates to make sure they don't miss any deadlines.
Once registration begins, candidates must carefully fill out all the information, upload documents in the right format, pick exam cities, and pay the fee on time.
