The selection process for the IIM Amritsar IPM program is rigorous, involving multiple stages designed to assess candidates comprehensively. From application submission to the final merit list, each stage plays a crucial role in determining admission.
Application Submission: Candidates must meet the defined eligibility criteria and submit a complete application along with the applicable fee. It is mandatory to enter the IPMAT Indore 2026 registration number. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Shortlisting for Personal Interview: Candidates are shortlisted for a Personal Interview based on their Aptitude Test Score (ATS). The ATS is derived from IPMAT Indore section scores with specific weightage. No individual rejection letters are sent during this stage.
IIM Amritsar assigns equal weightage to both Quantitative Ability sections for ATS calculation.
Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview, which may be conducted either online or offline. The interview panel evaluates various aspects of the candidate, including academic profile, communication skills, general awareness, and extracurricular involvement.
Merit List and Provisional Admission: The final Composite Score (CS) determines the merit list. This score is calculated by combining the Aptitude Test Score (ATS)(70% weioghtage), Personal Interview (PI) performance(25% weightage), and a factor for gender diversity (5% weightage). A category-wise merit list is then generated, and provisional admission offers are made in accordance with the Government of India reservation norms. A total of 60 seats are available across all categories.
It is important to note that IIM Amritsar releases its own independent shortlist. Clearing the IPMAT Indore cutoff alone does not guarantee a PI call from IIM Amritsar; candidates need to meet IIM Amritsar's separate ATS threshold.
