Understanding Admission Types (Type I, Type II, Type III)

IIM Bodh Gaya uses three admission classifications in its shortlisting summary:

  • Type I (Provisional Offer): Candidates in this category receive a direct offer for provisional admission. They must pay the Expression of Interest (EoI) deposit and acceptance fee within the specified timeframe to confirm their seat.

  • Type II (Waitlisted - EoI Issued): Candidates who qualify the minimum requirements but fall below the Type I cutoff are placed on the waitlist. Separate tracks exist for Gender Neutral (GN) seats and Supernumerary Girls (SNG) seats. They are required to pay a refundable EoI deposit of ₹15,000 to remain in the waitlist movement.

  • Type III (Sectional Cleared, No Active Offer): Candidates who meet the sectional cutoffs but do not qualify for the active waitlist (Type II) in the initial release. They may be considered in subsequent admission rounds if seats remain vacant.

To secure final admission after clearing the JIPMAT Category-wise Cut Off 2026, candidates must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Qualifying Exam: Passed 10+2 / XII / HSC examination in Arts, Commerce, or Science stream with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender) in 2025 or appearing in 2026.

  • Class 10th Requirement: Passed Class 10th examination with 60% or more (55% for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender) not earlier than 2023.

  • Age & Citizenship Criteria: Candidate must be an Indian citizen or registered OCI/PIO.

Tie-Breaking Rules for JIPMAT Merit List 2026

If two or more candidates achieve the exact same overall JIPMAT score, IIM Bodh Gaya applies the following tie-breaking order:

  1. Higher score in the Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC) section.

  2. Recent appearance in Class X examinations.

  3. Candidate lower in age (younger candidate gets preference).
