Admission to the flagship MBA program at IIM Ranchi is a rigorous, two-stage process primarily based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) score.
IIM Ranchi admission process follows the Common Admission Process (CAP) conducted for the new IIMs.
Stage I: CAT Examination: Candidates must appear for the CAT exam.
Stage II: Shortlisting for PI: Candidates who meet the IIM Ranchi CAT cutoff and eligibility criteria are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round. IIM Ranchi is not currently conducting a Written Ability Test (WAT).
Stage III: Final Selection: The final merit list for the MBA program is prepared using a composite score based on the following criteria:

To be eligible for the MBA program:
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories).
Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply, provided they submit their passing certificate within the specified deadline.
IIM Ranchi CAT cutoff is a critical factor for shortlisting candidates for the Personal Interview (PI) stage. The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), a five-year program that awards a BBA and MBA degree, is offered by IIM Ranchi. The program is a great option for students who wish to pursue management education right after Class 12.
Admission to IIM Ranchi BBA program for the IIM Ranchi admission 2026 batch will be based on the following:
Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the IPMAT (Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test) conducted by IIM Indore.
Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates based on IPMAT scores (65% weightage) are called for a Personal Interview (PI).
Final Merit List: The final selection is based on a Consolidated Merit List (CML), with weightages given to the Admission Test Score, PI Score, Academic Profile (10th & 12th), and Gender Diversity (bonus points).
Candidates must have passed their 10th and 12th standard examinations (or equivalent) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). There is no age restriction for the IPM program.
