Official Confirmation: NEET PG 2025 Scheduled for June 15
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which is responsible for conducting NEET PG, has not released any notice indicating a change in the exam schedule. As per the official announcement, NEET PG 2025 will be held on June 15, 2025, and the examination will follow the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.
The PIB’s clarification aims to prevent unnecessary stress and misinformation, especially among candidates preparing for this highly competitive postgraduate medical entrance exam.
Misinformation Sparks Confusion Among Aspirants
The fake notice, which rapidly gained traction across various social media platforms and messaging apps, claimed that the exam had been postponed. This caused significant concern among nearly two lakh MBBS graduates who are expected to appear for the exam to compete for approximately 52,000 postgraduate medical seats in India.
In response, the PIB issued a fact-check stating:
“A fake notification claims that NEET PG 2025 has been postponed to August 17. This claim is fake. The exam will be conducted on June 15, 2025, as announced earlier.”
NEET PG 2025 to Follow Two-Shift Format
Similar to the previous year, NEET PG 2025 will be conducted in two shifts on the same day. This format was first introduced in 2023, replacing the earlier single-shift model. The exam was held on August 11, 2023, with the first session from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and the second from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
The two-shift model was introduced to efficiently manage the growing number of candidates and to ensure fair and unbiased administration. Candidates were randomly allotted shifts to maintain balance and avoid preferential treatment.
Mixed Reactions from Candidates
While the NBEMS has defended the two-shift format as fair and transparent, many aspirants remain dissatisfied. A significant concern among students is the possible variation in difficulty levels between the two question papers.
To address this, the board uses a normalisation process to balance scores across both shifts. However, several candidates argue that this method may not fully neutralise the differences in question complexity, leading to debates over fairness and equity.
No Changes in Exam Pattern Announced
Despite the ongoing concerns and student demands for a return to the single-shift format, NBEMS has not indicated any plans to alter the current exam structure. The two-shift system will remain in place for NEET PG 2025.
Additionally, the board has confirmed that the information bulletin, which includes detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria, and exam instructions, will be made available soon on the official NBEMS website: www.natboard.edu.in
Stay Away from Unverified Sources
Medical aspirants are strongly advised to avoid relying on unverified social media posts, WhatsApp forwards, or unofficial websites. Any updates regarding NEET PG 2025, including the information bulletin and admit card release, will be posted only on the official NBEMS platforms.
NEET PG 2025 will take place on June 15, 2025, as scheduled, with no changes to the exam pattern or date confirmed as of now. The exam will be held in two shifts and will follow the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Despite rumors about a postponement, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that these claims are false. Candidates should stay prepared and follow official announcements for any further updates. Aspirants should continue their preparation with focus and stay updated through official sources only to avoid falling prey to misinformation.
