NEET PG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially announced an extension of the resignation window for candidates allotted seats under NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 1 and Round 2. This decision comes after MCC received several requests from postgraduate medical aspirants who wish to withdraw from the All India Quota counselling following the declaration of various state counselling results. As per the official notice dated 22 December 2025, eligible candidates are now permitted to resign their allotted seats within the revised schedule through the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in. Candidates must carefully follow the prescribed guidelines to ensure their resignation is considered valid.
As per the updated schedule released by MCC, the resignation facility will remain open as follows:
| Event | Date & Time |
| Resignation Window Opens | December 22, 2025 (from 2:00 PM) |
| Resignation Window Closes | December 26, 2025 (till 6:00 PM) |
Candidates who have not yet resigned from their Round 1 or Round 2 seats are advised to complete the process strictly within this timeframe to avoid penalties or future disqualification.
The Medical Counselling Committee has issued the following key instructions regarding the resignation process:
Fresh Round 2 allottees who have joined their allotted college but now wish to resign may vacate their seat within the stipulated period; however, the security deposit will be forfeited.
Candidates who were upgraded in Round 2, joined the upgraded seat, and now intend to resign are also allowed to do so during the extended window, subject to forfeiture of the security deposit.
It is mandatory for candidates to physically report to the allotted college to complete the resignation process.
Candidates must ensure that the Resignation Letter is generated through the MCC-provided portal by the allotted college. Any resignation not processed through the official portal will be treated as “Null & Void.”
The NEET PG 2025 Round 2 seat allotment result was declared on December 16, 2025. Candidates allotted seats in this round who wish to exit the counselling process must strictly adhere to the resignation rules and timelines prescribed by MCC.
The extension has been granted in view of the ongoing declaration of state counselling results and applies only to candidates resigning from Round 1 or Round 2 seats.
