As the NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled for May 3rd, 2026, candidates must strictly adhere to the exam-day rules issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure a fair and secure testing environment.
One of the most important aspects of exam preparedness is awareness of barred items. Carrying prohibited articles to the examination centre may lead to denial of entry or disqualification, regardless of intent. Candidates are therefore advised to carefully review the list of items not allowed inside the NEET UG 2026 Examination Centre.
Candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the examination centre using highly sensitive metal detectors. Under no circumstances are candidates permitted to carry the following items inside the examination hall:
Any textual material, whether printed or handwritten
Loose papers, notes, or bits of paper
Geometry box, pencil box, plastic pouch
Calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, eraser, log table
Pen drives, electronic pens, scanners, or similar devices
Mobile phones (switched on or off)
Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones
Pagers, smart devices, health bands, or wearable electronics
Wallets, goggles, handbags, belts, caps
Watches or wristwatches, bracelets
Cameras or recording devices
Any ornaments or metallic items, including jewellery
Any food items, whether packed or opened
Water bottles or any consumable items
Any item that could be used for unfair means, including objects that may conceal communication devices such as microchips, cameras, or Bluetooth components
No storage facility is provided at the examination centres for personal belongings.
Candidates must not bring any barred item to the centre, as NTA will not be responsible for loss or inconvenience.
Candidates are required to arrange their belongings in advance and carry only permitted documents.
Candidates wearing articles of faith (customary, cultural, or religious) must report to the examination centre at least two hours before the last reporting time. This allows sufficient time for proper frisking while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.
If, during screening, any suspected device is found within such an article, the candidate may be asked not to take it inside the examination hall.
