Candidates who qualify NEET UG 2025 must submit original documents along with attested photocopies during counselling and at the time of joining the allotted medical or dental college. These documents prove the candidate’s eligibility, identity, category, and educational qualifications.

Here is a list of documents required for NEET counselling 2025

  • NEET 2025 Admit Cards of Exam issued by NTA.

  • NEET 2025 Result/ Rank letter issued by NTA.

  • Date of Birth Certificate (if Metric Certificate does not bear the same)

  • Class 10th Certificate

  • Class 10+2 Certificate (Vi). Class 10+2 Marks Sheet

  • Eight (8) Passport size photograph same as affixed on the application form.

  • Provisional allotment letter generated on-line.

  • Proof of identity (Aadhar/ PAN/ Driving Licence/ Passport)

Documents Required for Reserved Category and PwBD

Some students fall under special categories like SC/ST/OBC or PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability). They must bring extra documents to get the benefit of reservation.

SC/ST Caste Certificate Must be issued by a competent authority, in Hindi or English. If in regional language, carry translated copy.
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) OBC Certificate Sub-caste must match the Central List. Certificate format should be as per MCC guidelines.
PwBD Disability Certificate Must be issued by a Medical Board as per RPWD Act 2016. Certificates from any other hospital will not be accepted.
Citizenship Citizenship Certificate (if applicable) For proof of nationality if not already included in other documents.

Note: Candidates who do not bring original documents will not be allowed to join the college. No admission is allowed on the basis of a “certificate of deposit” from any other institution.

NEET Counselling 2025 Documents Required for NRI/OCI Students

Students from NRI (Non-Resident Indian) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) backgrounds have to submit a few additional documents to prove their eligibility and relationship with their sponsors.

During online registration, students must upload digital copies of their documents, photos, and signature. Each of these must follow strict size and format rules to avoid rejection.

Documents Instructions for NEET Counselling 2025

Before uploading or submitting documents for NEET 2025 counselling, students must carefully follow the instructions provided by the counselling authority (MCC or State). Submitting documents in the wrong format, incorrect order, or missing any important file can lead to cancellation of counselling or admission rejection.

In addition to the earlier mentioned documents like the NEET admit card, result, and identity proof, students must also submit the following during the counselling process:

Signature Uploading Guidelines

Candidates must sign properly using the following steps:

  • Sign with black ballpoint pen on white paper.

  • Use running handwriting, not block (capital) letters.

  • Upload only your own signature. If someone else’s signature is uploaded, it may lead to cancellation.

  • Format should be JPG and size between 4 KB to 30 KB.

  • Uploading another person’s signature is treated as cheating. This can also lead to criminal proceedings under unfair means rules.

Photographs Uploading Guidelines for NEET UG Counselling 2025

Photos should not be old or unclear. Follow these steps:

  • Use a recent photo taken in the last 3 months.

  • Face should be clearly visible, mask removed, ears must be seen.

  • White background is required.

  • You can upload either color or black-and-white photos.

  • Format should be JPG/JPEG, and size should be 10 KB to 200 KB.

Thumb Impression Uploading Guidelines for NEET UG Counselling 2025

The NTA asks for left and right hand thumb and finger impressions. These must be uploaded clearly using the official format.

  • Use the official NTA template.

  • Thumb impression must be clear, not blurred or light.

  • File size must be 10 KB to 200 KB.

  • Unclear thumb impressions will lead to disqualification.

Getting ready for NEET UG 2025 Counselling is one of the most important steps toward getting into a medical college. Many students lose their chance due to small mistakes in document preparation. To avoid such problems, it is important to know what to check carefully in each type of document. Below are the most common mistakes and how to avoid them.

  • Mismatch in Name or Date of Birth: Make sure your name and date of birth are the same in all documents like Class 10 certificate, NEET application, and ID proof.

  • Uploading Blurry or Wrong Format Files: Upload documents only in the required PDF or JPG format. Files must be clear and readable. Blurred or incorrect files may be rejected.

  • Using Old or Unclear Photos: Your passport-size photo must be recent (not older than 3 months), with a white background and clear face visibility.

  • Wrong or Missing Category Certificates: If claiming SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or EWS reservation, submit valid certificates in the correct format issued by a recognized authority.

  • Not Having Migration or Transfer Certificate: If you changed your school or board, you must submit a migration or transfer certificate as proof of change.

  • Errors in ID Proofs: Ensure your Aadhaar Card, Passport, or other ID has correct information and matches your NEET application details.

  • Submitting PwD Certificate from Invalid Authority: Only PwD certificates from a government-approved Medical Board are accepted. Others will not be valid.

  • Missing Deadlines or Payment: Failing to upload documents on time or not paying the counselling fee can stop your registration and admission process.

Can I take admission without original documents for NEET UG counselling 2025?

No. You must bring original documents. Admission will not be given based on photocopies or a letter from another college.
