The seat resignation facility is applicable specifically to Round 1 FLOAT candidates who meet the conditions prescribed by MCC.
Candidates are eligible if they:
Were allotted a seat in Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026.
Joined the allotted Round 1 college/seat.
Opted for upgradation under the FLOAT option.
Did not receive an upgraded seat in Round 2.
Continued with their original Round 1 allotted seat after Round 2.
Candidates outside the specified category should not assume that the resignation facility applies to them.
Candidates using the Round 1 seat resignation facility were required to follow the instructions issued by MCC carefully.
Eligible candidates were required to access the MCC counselling portal and complete the seat resignation process online. The candidate must generate the prescribed Seat Withdrawal/Resignation Slip after completing the process.
Candidates who completed their resignation between September 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM and September 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM were permitted to resign without forfeiture of the security deposit, as per the notice.
Candidates submitting resignation after the prescribed deadline would be subject to forfeiture of the security deposit.
Candidates should ensure that the online resignation process is completed successfully and that the required resignation slip is generated. An offline request or a resignation without the prescribed online documentation would not be considered valid.
